I stared at the double pink lines, like they would magically disappear. Fuck, how could I get pregnant!

The morning after girl’s night, I couldn’t stop throwing up. It had been like that the last few mornings actually. At first I thought I drank too much, then I remembered my period being late. Not thinking twice, I hopped in my car and went to Walgreens to get some tests. And now, all these shits done came back positive.

After sitting on the toilet for about thirty minutes in shock, I got up and wiped myself. I walked out my bathroom and picked up my house phone to call Twin. She answered on the third ring, and I could hear them badass kids driving her crazy.

“Hey Twinnnn.”

“Hey, you busy?” I asked.

“No, wait, hold up. Y’all go get ya clothes on, we are leaving in forty-five minutes. Last one done is a rotten egg!!” she yelled at the kids. I heard them all yelling and then it got quiet, and she got back on the phone. “You there?”

“Yea, I’m here, I’m 'bout to call sissy on three way and she gonna call Jae. I need to tell y’all hoes something.”

Once I clicked over and called Tan, she called Jae and we were all on the phone.

“What’s going on twin, are you okay?” Eyshia asked.

“Yea, who died? We don’t even three way unless it’s an emergency,” Jae said.

“Bitch me, I died. My dreams died, everything! I’m pregnant,” I cried. The phone was quiet, but I think I heard Jae snicker.

“Hellooo?”

“Sooooo, are we not happy?” asked Tan.

“Hell no we not happy! What the fuck am I going to do with a baby on my hip? I’m twenty-four years old, I have my whole life ahead of me. How the hell is a little Prince going to fit into all of that?”

I wasn’t trying to be rude, but this was not that. I was not an aspiring baby mama, fuck that.

“Shit, well I did it. It took a little longer than I expected, but I did it and that’s all that matters,” Twin said proudly.

“Amen to that,” Jae agreed.

“Well I’m not Y’ALL! I’m not mommy material, and y’all know it too,” I snapped at them.

“First off Bree, you need to calm down. Don’t go snapping on us like we got you pregnant. All they’re saying is if you worried about help, you know we got you. We gonna push you ‘til the end.”

“Yea? Well I don’t see you with no baby on your hip and you know we got you too.”

Soon as I said that shit, I wanted to kick my own ass. My feelings had gotten the best of me for a minute there, and I was out of line.

“Wowww!”

“Tan”

“Nah, it’s cool Eyshia. I’ll talk to y’all later. Bree, you can call me when you’re ready to talk to me like an adult,” Tan said, before hanging up.

“Damn Bree,” Jae said. I could tell she was shaking her head. I knew my girl.
